Beaches in Savannah
Unwind on sun-kissed sands
With Hilton Head and Tybee Island a short, and scenic drive away, finding beaches in Savannah for a day-trip is a key part of any summer travel to our city. A 30-to-45 minute jaunt will take you to sparkling white sands, space to spread out, and plenty of U.S. history to explore.
Long known as "Savannah's Beach" for its easy access from Downtown, Tybee Island is the most popular Georgia beach destination for the Atlanta metro region as well. Including street parking, restrooms, and other amenities, Tybee's endless choice of attractions and dining options complements its absolutely magnificent views. Be sure to scale the Tybee Island Lighthouse, one of only seven surviving lighthouses from Savannah's Colonial era.
Boasting palatial homes, yachts, and award-winning golf courses, Hilton Head regularly wins Travel + Leisure's World's Best Awards. Adding to the backdrop of opulence, there's a breathtaking system of trails and preserved forest running alongside the beach, so hikers and bikers, too, can enjoy the natural bounty of the area.
The longer you're with us at Perry Lane, the more time you have to strike out beyond downtown Savannah. A beach trip is a journey to relaxation, enrichment, and a chance to enjoy the Southern summer rays.
